Phelps hopes to begin training Monday: Swimmer Michael Phelps is still nursing a sore ankle from the car accident he was in Thursday, but the Olympic gold medalist intends to resume training Monday.
In a message on his official Facebook site, Phelps also expressed concern for the woman involved in the car crash, which occurred when she ran a red light, according to Baltimore police.
"Thanks, everybody who has reached out since the accident," Phelps posed. "I am fine and glad nobody was seriously hurt. I hope the other driver is doing OK. My ankle hurts and I am having it checked out, but nothing that is going to prevent me from getting back to training on Monday. Hope you guys have a good weekend."
